Kousuke Ohshiba (大柴康介 Ōshiba Kōsuke) is a main character in Hitorijime My Hero, as well as a secondary character in Hitorijime Boyfriend. He is engaged to Masahiro Setagawa.
Appearance[]
Kousuke has a tall, muscular build, with black hair and blue-gray eyes. He also has a mole on his chin. According to Toru's gang, he wears weird shirts, but he is seen wearing a black-brown suit and a necktie at school. When Kousuke was a teenager, he would be described as the bear killer and he would wear weird t-shirts.
Personality[]
Kousuke usually shows a cheerful personality, though he is a fairly serious person and when angered he seems cold. Usually, he is in a good mood. At times, he can be perverted and lewd.
History[]
Kousuke has always been fond of math and solving all problems possible, as stated by his mother, he has been sick because of solving a problem without sleep. It is also stated that he likes to care and help helpless things, so him being in a relationship with Masahiro Setagawa has given him more reason.

Masahiro Setagawa[]
Masahiro and Kousuke first meet when Kensuke brought Masahiro home. At first, Kousuke thinks Masahiro looks like a thug but he believes he can help Masahiro. Soon after, Masahiro becomes the sidekick of Kousuke. Masahiro looked up to Kousuke because Kousuke would help Masahiro and Kousuke was like a hero to Masahiro. Kousuke eventually goes to become a teacher and when he returns Masahiro is a high school student. From then on, Masahiro's relationship with Kousuke changes. Kousuke is unable to understand his own feelings and is scared that Masahiro won't recognize Kousuke's feelings so he pushes Masahiro away.
In episode 4, Masahiro is confronted by Kousuke. Kousuke says he will never be able to return Masahiro's feelings. At school, Masahiro tries to ignore Kousuke but Kousuke kisses Masahiro after Masahiro asks for Kousuke to forget about Masahiro's feelings.
Masahiro gets back into trouble with Tooru's gang. Masahiro distances himself from his friends and Kousuke. Masahiro doesn't tell Kousuke about the gang because of Masahiro's rejection and he doesn't want Kousuke to worry. Kousuke goes to Masahiro's house and Kousuke learns Masahiro is in trouble. Kousuke also tells Masahiro his true feelings. Tooru's gang comes to Masahiro's house then once the gang sees Kousuke they challenge Kousuke to fight them. Kousuke is fighting the gang when Yabase tries to stab Kousuke. Masahiro sees this and rushes to Kousuke's side. In result of this, Masahiro jumps in front of Kousuke and Masahiro gets stabbed. Kousuke gets mad that Masahiro got stabbed but Masahiro says he didn't want Kousuke to get hurt. After Toru and his gang members leave, Masahiro embraces Kousuke and breaks down in tears telling him that he wants to be with him. Shortly after these events, they begin their romantic relationship. With Kousuke making Masahiro his 'secret wife'. They face many obstacles, such as Masahiro attempting to take initiative and kiss Kousuke, trying not to show their affection in public, and Masahiro and Kensuke's friends finding out about their secret relationship. But the most noticeable problem for them is their relationship getting discovered by people due to their status as teacher and student. As Masahiro fears about Kousuke getting in trouble and losing his job, Kousuke explains to him that although he doesn't want to quit his job, Masahiro is the most important thing in his life and doesn't want to lose him. Masahiro continues to panic about Kousuke's job and after asking people what he should do about thier relationship, Masahiro tearfully breaks up with Kousuke over the phone. The next day, Kousuke leaves a note in Masahiro's mailbox and begins to look for him. After finding Masahiro, he tells Masahiro that he can't let him go and that he is too special to him. Kousuke asks Masahiro to meet him in the mountains to watch the meteor shower together if he wants to give their relationship another chance. After deciding he wouldn't go, Masahiro reads Kousuke's letter he left him, reading that Kousuke can't live a life without Masahiro, and says that he was his hero and that Masahiro saved him everyday. Masahiro hurries to the mountains and finds Kousuke their waiting for him. Masahiro tells Kousuke that he loves him and wants to be with him. Kousuke accepts this and they kiss and exchange engagement rings and proceed to walk home together.
Kensuke Oshiba[]
Kensuke and Kousuke are brothers. Kensuke looks up to his brother . When Kousuke comes back from school, Kensuke is not excited about Kousuke being his teacher. Kousuke encourages Kensuke about his relationship with Hasekura.
Miho Ohshiba[]
Miho is Kousuke and Kensuke's mother. Kousuke and his mother have a good relationship. Miho encouraged Kousuke to study hard and help others. Miho is not a good cook but Kousuke and Kensuke eats her food anyways.
Asaya Hasekura[]
Asaya Hasekura is Kensuke's boyfriend. Kousuke sometimes talks to Hasekura. Hasekura ultimately pushed Kousuke to go and see Masahiro. He told Kousuke to tell Masahiro how he feels. Kousuke sometimes teases Hasekura about Kensuke not wanting intimacy in their relationship.
Ayaka Houjou[]
Kousuke and Ayaka went to high school together. They are old friends and they meet at a bar called Relax Bar Mary. Kousuke assures Ayaka that as long as Hasekura is at the Oshiba's house that Kousuke will look out for Hasekura. Ayaka find out about Kousuke's relationship with Masahiro and tests Masahiro. Masahiro proves he would do anything for Kou. Kousuke is annoyed that Ayaka tested Masahiro.
Tsunehito Houjou[]
Kousuke and Tsunehito are friends from high school. Tsunehito is Ayaka's husband. Tsuenhito was the first to recognize Masahiro and Kousuke's relationship. Tsuenhito teases Kousuke about Masahiro.

- The type of cigarettes Kousuke smokes are called Eco-Eco Smoking.
- Since the age of consent in Japan is 16 (as of 2024) and Masahiro is NOT 16 when the series starts, Kousuke can be considered a groomer/pedophile.
